An Oasis in the Guggenheim of Bilbao

The Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao is an international benchmark in the field of contemporary art, noted for its influential exhibitions, which include works by such relevant artists as Richard Serra, Louise Bourgeois, Jeff Koons or Jenny Holzer.

From February 9 to May 15 of this year, a temporary exhibition of the well-known sculptor Giovanni Anselmo is on display, which hides a very special surprise.

The famous Italian author (Borgofranco d'Ivrea, 1934 - Turin, 2023), began his career in the 1960s, but his work experienced a turning point a few years later after a revealing experience that led the artist to an important realization: that of being an integral part of an infinite universe in constant transformation.

The exhibition, baptized "Beyond the Horizon", aims to constitute an analysis of the artist's practice, revealing in depth his interest in the order and cyclical course of natural phenomena. The exhibited pieces attempt to present the latent energies that surround us here and now, as well as the immeasurable character of the dynamics that govern the cosmos.

But... What does this have to do with Omotesandō Plants?

Given this interest of the artist in capturing in his work the changing nature of the universe and its continuous renewal, from the curatorship of the museum he contacted us with a fascinating idea: to present one of our Gardens in a Bol in the exhibition, as they are small ecosystems in constant evolution.

We decided that our model Oasis model was the perfect one to undertake this function and conceptually synthesize what we wanted to capture.

Here's a video where we explain it!
